East Farleigh Farmers' Market is held on the first Sunday of each month (except for January) and, for the final 2015 market, Sue Morris, the market manager, decided that some Christmas festive music would go down well. Kettle Bridge Concertinas were very pleased to help out so a small but intrepid group of seven players came along to play part of the standard KBC Christmas repertoire.

The location of the market was very easy to find as it was held in The Old School Hall, the scene of many a band practice, with some additional stalls outside in the car park. As you can see from the photographs, there was some excellent merchandise on sale including a wide variety of scrumptious food and plenty of Christmas present ideas.

Due to the rather windy and unsettled weather, we were placed inside the hall at the far end, nicely in the dry and close to the food and drink! There was a slight scare before we started when Dave discovered he had a screw loose and then Trina had to keep making some rude noises trying to free a sticky reed.

We performed two sessions of Christmas favourites with a break in-between for a refreshing cuppa (courtesy of the manager) and an opportunity to walk round the market. It was so enticing that I personally ended up buying cakes, sausage rolls, some brie cheese, sausages, sausage-meat, fudge and a plant. As Lord Darlington says in Lady Windermere's Fan, "I can resist everything except temptation".

We must have played well because, after the second performance, the manager expressed her heartfelt appreciation of our efforts and said that we would be very welcome to return next December. Who knows, this could become a regular gig! Well done everyone!
